THINGS TO ADD TO GENERAL CONTROLLING DIRECTIVE FOR ENROUTE

  • NOTES FROM KYLE and a RW Area B sup:
    • S56 arrivals from the southwest:
      • Aircraft are required to be AOB FL320 15 miles south of DTA.
    • S56 arrivals from over MTU:
      • Sector 4 crosses MTU at FL300 and sector 32 issues the crossing restriction at SPANE.

SECTOR: 06

  • GENERAL
    • SECTOR NARRATIVE
      • Delegated airspace extending upward from the surface except for the area that overlies Big Sky Approach. It has a moderate amount of en route east/west traffic that crosses with north/south traffic on a regular basis. The sector has a mix of aircraft that depart off the smaller airports in the Montana and Idaho areas including Butte (BTM), Bozeman (BZN), Livingston (LVM), West Yellowstone (WYS), Dillon (DLN), and Salmon (SMN). Many IFR clearance requests are received and relayed through AFSS.
      • Delegates airspace around BZN AOB 160 to BOI ATCT. The airspace is operated as Big Sky Approach. Sector 06 also includes a section of Helena Approach that extends into its airspace. Sector 06 works with sector 19 for arrivals and departures from Helena (HLN) and Missoula (MSO) approach controls which are located in sector 19. The sector is bounded to the west by Seattle ARTCC.
      • An area around the Bozeman Radar (BZN) is adapted to permit reduced IFR separation of 3NM and facilitates expeditious handling of traffic in the vicinity of the Bozeman International Airport.

      • ARRIVALS
        • All aircraft must be instructed to contact Bozeman Tower at least 10 miles from the airport.
        • Bozeman Tower may clear an aircraft executing an instrument approach for a visual approach as specified in FAA Order JO 7110.65, Air Traffic Control, Chapter 7, Section 4, without further coordination with ZLC provided:
          • a. The aircraft is within 15 NM of BZN.
          • b. Visual separation must be provided between the aircraft and any IFR departure that has been released.

Note from KYLE: The altimeters call for ISN to be one of the weather stations however, ISN is no longer the identifier for this station I think. XWA is in its place. XWA was used in place for the new ZLC_LUFL batch file.
